Sauntering in the Ceramic City

The Ceramic City

The Ceramic City

Cultural distinctions fill this land, with pottery art prosperously developed. Art has been deeply rooted in the city, resulting in the growth and duration of its humanistic culture.

Yingge is celebrated for its ceramics in Taiwan. In addition to the efforts made by Yingge Township Office to promote Yingge ceramic culture, the Yingge Ceramic Old Street, Ceramics Museum and Yingge Vocational Senior High School have also contributed their efforts to promote Yingge culture. The cultural icons remain in every corner of Yingge, including the park and mosaic wall outside Old Street.

Yingge Ceramics Museum

This is the first museum in Taiwan that is based on the theme of ceramics.

It exhibits the development history of Taiwan’s ceramic culture and Taiwan’s ceramic artworks to promote modern pottery creation.

In addition, it makes every effort to survey, collect and preserve Taiwan’s ceramic culture, while also providing artists with a platform to study, collect, exhibit and promote Taiwan’s ceramic culture.

Yingge Vocational High School

So far, it is the only county vocational senior high school in Taiwan. Located at the Zhongzheng 3rd Road, it is a young and vivacious school. The school provides its students with a pottery-related curriculum, thereby combining local industry and culture, and enabling Yingge’s humanistic heritage to continue to develop and be passed along.
